Compassion House
Compassion House is a family model home for pregnant
teens and teens with children.
|
Compassion House provides residential care for
girls, under the age of eighteen, who are pregnant or
have a child. These mothers and mothers-to-be have a
history of being abandoned, neglected, and abused. Each
girl brings a unique history, and is in need of love and
support.
Compassion House is unique in that it is one
of the few family-model residential care homes in the
state of Arizona. A "family model" means that
it is staffed by live-in parents and not staffed by a
rotation of employees. It is directed by a husband and
wife team who live in the home along with their two
teenage daughters. This approach creates a warm and
inviting atmosphere for support and change.

 |
The goal of Compassion House is to promote the
physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of these girls
and their children. Special emphasis is placed upon learning
independent living skills, household management, and parenting
skills.
Compassion House is a community based program which
draws its strength from members of the community. Compassion
House relies upon a community advisory board, volunteers,
social service agencies, churches, and corporate and
individual donors for their success.
